Healthcare Critical Knowledge Monitor System Model: Healthcare Knowledge Capture Component Specification- Crimson Publishers

The constant evolution of Information and Communication Technologies brings new opportunities with multiple forms of communication, therefore new ways of sharing knowledge. In healthcare practice, being updated it’s extremely important in order to provide a better service. The growth of multiple sources of knowledge, mostly supported by technology, gives more opportunity to achieve it. Another way to be updated is sharing knowledge with partners and communities, which is becoming part of the healthcare organizations culture (i.e. Electronic Health Record systems). Healthcare organizations manage with personal information concerning to patients such as clinical treatment, clinical history, drug administration, diseases casuistic, among others; and from many sources, such as patient’s feedback, knowledge from suppliers, knowledge from Internet sources, knowledge from decision support systems and inference knowledge (e.g. knowledge from data mining techniques) that are supported by computer based systems and therefore, demands cautious when are ethical and legal aspects involved. The Critical Knowledge Monitor System Model, proposed, allows knowledge sharing in a controlled ambient and could be a part of the answer to this paradigm that healthcare organizations face. To implement the Critical Knowledge Monitor System model we’ll need, to capture knowledge in multiple forms in healthcare organizations, to accomplish it knowledge engineering techniques such as text mining techniques, Information retrieval, ontology construction, among others, should be applied. Since not all knowledge manage by healthcare organizations could be considered critical (or much critical), it’s necessary to use specific clinical constructs, such as sensitivity and, we believe, combining it with information security principles CIA and Privacy we could assess documents and classify them as critical to the healthcare organization.

Ultra-Fast Detection of Loosened Bolts Based on Binary Image Processing- Crimson Publishers

Ultra-Fast Detection of Loosened Bolts Based on Binary Image Processing- CrimsonPublishers   In this paper, we offer a new method for detecting tight or loosened bolts based on image processing. The proposed method is independent of bolt appearances, and no height detector is needed. Firstly, several pictures are taken from the bolts in tight and different loosened states for training the system. After the training step, the status of the study bolts is processed by MATLAB software. By using image processing techniques including noise removal, Circular Hough Transform (CHT), transformation of colored images to grayscale, Otsu thresholding, binary complement of Otsu thresholding, enhancement of images with dilation structure element, and after calculating the area of the bolts, the decision about the states of the bolts can be accurately determined based on the number of zero pixels. The proposed method has the advantages of the low calculation process, very fast, and high preci...

Review of Long Term Turbidity Trends with Possible Reasons around the World | Crimson Publishers

Review of Long Term Turbidity Trends with Possible Reasons around the World by Ilknur Tuncer in Research in Medical & Engineering Sciences In this review, it was tried to summarize the long term turbidity trends in various environments around the world. It was found that there was a decreasing trend in water clarity for Baltic Sea, Dutch Wadden Sea, Black Sea, Adriatic Sea, Japanese coasts due to eutrophication, rapid industrialization, anthropogenic input, etc. throughout 1900s and when those effects were diminished as maintained in Norwegian and North Atlantic coasts by the introduction of waste treatment plants and the improvement of sewage systems, an increasing trend was obtained. Moreover, clear oceanic water intrusion into near shore regions also resulted in an increase in water clarity as seen in the coasts of Southern California. On the other hand, since coasts of Wales, UK consisted of inorganic sediments, rather than anthropogenic effects, wind was tested as...

Stimulus Activated Shape Switching in Shape Memory Materials with Tailor Able Start/Finish Temperature/ Time - Crimson Publishers

Stimulus Activated ShapeSwitching in Shape Memory Materials with Tailor Able Start/Finish Temperature/Time by Wei Min Huang* in Research in Medical & Engineering Sciences The shape memory effect (SME) refers to the phenomenon of shape recovery in a severely pre-deformed material , but only when a right stimulus is applied. The materials with the SME are called shape memory material (SMM), and typical stimuli include heat, chemical (including water/moisture), light, etc. Right now, the family of SMM has expended significantly, and covers a range of different types of materials, including alloy, polymer and ceramic etc. In general, the SME process includes two steps. The first step is to program the piece of SMM into a temporary shape (known as the programming process); and the second step is to apply the right stimulus for recovery (called the recovery process) with or without constraint applied. https://crimsonpublishers.com/rmes/fulltext/RMES.000515.php For mo...
