Is Photosynthesis Quantumish or Not So Quantamish?- Crimson Publishers

Is Photosynthesis Quantumish or Not So Quantamish?- Crimson Publishers   Nature itself is a huge laboratory with plants on it as an experimental setup, performing the incredible process of photosynthesis. Photosynthesis, as a process, has been extensively studied and as such, all the mechanisms occurring therein are well known from the biochemical point of view. However, the study of the phenomenon from a quantum perspective is quite new. There is growing evidence that quantum coherence plays a role in photosynthesis, however, the fact is not clear to that level of accuracy. Therefore, a better understanding of this process is both interesting and fruitful. https://crimsonpublishers.com/rmes/fulltext/RMES.000710.php For more open access journals in crimson publishers Please click on link: https://crimsonpublishers.com For more articles on Research in Medical & Engineering Sciences Please click on link: https://crimsonpublishers.com/rmes/

Mecobalamin as A Neuroprotective Effector Against Oxaliplatin-Based Chemotherapy in Colon and Rectal Cancer Patients- Crimson Publishers

Mecobalamin as A Neuroprotective Effector Against Oxaliplatin-Based Chemotherapy in Colon and Rectal Cancer Patients- Crimson Publishers Palliative chemotherapy prolongs survival and improves quality of life. However, a variety of chemotherapeutics including oxaliplatin can cause severe side effects during treatments, leading to painful symptoms that might result in the interruption of cancer treatment. Although adding oxaliplatin to fluorouracil and leucovorin in adjuvant chemotherapy for colon and rectal cancer may improve disease-free survival, it also increases grade 3-4 sensory neuropathy. Our study aimed to determine whether oral Mecobalamin is neuroprotective against oxaliplatin-induced neuropathy. Forty-six stage III colon and rectal cancer patients receiving adjuvant biweekly oxaliplatin were randomized to oral Mecobalamin (1,500mg; case group) or placebo (control group). Clinical neurological and electrophysiological evaluations were performed at baseline and after 4, 8, an...

Protection of Very Small Particles Such as Viruses and Bacteria by Washable and Wearable Z-Nanofiber Sheet Mask- Crimson Publishers

Protection of Very Small Particles Such as Viruses and Bacteria by Washable and Wearable Z-Nanofiber Sheet Mask- Crimson Publishers   The diameter of the COVID-19 virus is considered to be about 50nm to 150nm, and the aerosol diameter containing it by cough about 300nm. Usually, masks are indispensable for preventing both virus spread and inhalation. There are various types of masks from woven to nonwoven fabrics on the market, and the protective effect to virus varies from a few percent to over 99%. In general, the performance of a mask can be represented by the Particle Filtration Efficiency (PFE) and Pressure Drop (PD) similar to an air filter. PFE corresponds to a measure of virus protection and PD to ease of breathing. Therefore, better performing masks have higher PFE and lower PD. PFE and PD are in a strong relationship with each other, that is, whenever we try to increase PFE, PD will increase. Generally, electrets are given to increase PFE in keeping PD low such as HEP...

Primary Angle Closure Glaucoma: A Review- Crimson Publishers

Primary Angle Closure Glaucoma: A Review- Crimson Publishers Glaucoma is a leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide. Primary angle closure glaucoma (PACG), is the second most common form of glaucoma and associated with the closure of the anterior chamber angle. Peripheral anterior synechia (PAS) frequently develop due to an attack of prolonged acute attack or a series subacute attack of angle closure glaucoma. These PAS are usually high and broad and very difficult to find out whether the PAS formed before or during the attack or possibly at both times. Principal management strategy for PACG is about anterior chamber angle by understanding the early stages of appositional angle closure before the PAS. In this review, we describe the current understanding regarding the pathophysiology and treatment of PACG. https://crimsonpublishers.com/rmes/fulltext/RMES.000702.php For more open access journals in crimson publishers Please click on link: https://crimsonpublishers.com F...

V+ model-a Medical Perspective for Device Development- Crimson Publishers

V+ model-a Medical Perspective for Device Development- Crimson Publishers Only a very small number of innovations in healthcare are ultimately market proof. Most innovations fail because they do not serve an actual market. Different models are available to provide guidance in the development phase of a novel therapy. One of these models is the V model, which was created to align development with stakeholders and to improve efficiency of development cycle. The alignment with stakeholders helps to insure the innovation matches the actual market. The models is very functional in pure technical and digital innovation, however the medical innovation is complex and not fully covered by this model. The novel V+ model introduce an additional layer to the V model, thereby covering all aspects of development in the medical landscape. https://crimsonpublishers.com/rmes/fulltext/RMES.000696.php For more open access journals in crimson publishers Please click on link: https://crimsonpublisher...

Exterior Artificial Pancreas Project- Crimson Publishers

Exterior Artificial Pancreas Project- Crimson Publishers Objective: Pump size exterior artificial pancreas that will keep the glucose between 120-150mg/dl. Method: The whole project based in idea that we should already know one insulin unit how much is able to go down the glucose and one glucagon’s unit how much is able to increase the glucose. Less than 120mg/dl it uses glucagon’s. More than 150mg/dl it uses insulin. The pump checks the glucose automatically every 8 minutes. The pump (which is software decision) will choose between insulin or glucagon’s base in internal database table with prerequisite glucose values and the insulin or glucagon’s units requiring for each glucose value (adaptive database table for each diabetic). The pump (the software) is able to choose how many insulin or glucagon’s units it should use (that is not based on what the diabetic will eat, but base on the current glucose level that received from the sensor which is located in human body, needle and ...

Classification of Diseases in General Medicine- Crimson Publishers

Classification of Diseases in General Medicine- Crimson Publishers To diagnose is to collect data to analyse and interpret them, which allows evaluating a certain condition. In medicine, therefore, a diagnosis seeks to reveal the manifestation of a disease from observing and analysing its symptoms. However, this observation of the signs of a disorder to recognize a disease is mediated by the theoretical framework in which we move [1]. Students learn, generally in a self-taught way, that there is a clinical method and that it consists of the scientific method applied to the individual care of the sick. That is, do a history of the disease that the patient tells, explore and perform complementary tests to collect objective data, build hypotheses about which organs are affected, and what disease causes it. However, it usually happens that, after being dazzled by the brightness of such a method in the hospital, when the doctor comes to work in general medicine, he begins to face the fa...
