The most common cause of dementia is Alzheimer’s disease (AD) which affects approximately 5.4 million individuals in the United States alone. Following the identification of tau gene mutations in familial forms of this disorder, there is increasing interest in genetic factors that may predispose to the disease. About 60% of patients with frontotemporal dementia have no family history of dementia and are considered to be sporadic cases. Genetic factors, such as apolipoprotein E genotype and the H1 haplotype of the tau gene, have been inconsistently asso...

Free Amino Acid and Their Derivatives: Plastic Substrates, Specific Regulators of Metabolism and Markers | Crimson Publishers

Free Amino Acid and Their Derivatives: Plastic Substrates,Specific Regulators of Metabolism and Markers by Nefyodov L in Journal of Medical Sciences & Health On the basis of the experimental data we suggest that the differences discovered in certain amino acids concentrations in blood plasma, red blood cells and tumors are criteria in early diagnostics of primary cancerous growth as well as in estimation of the efficacy of specific cancer treatment. Clinical studies on biological fluids and tumors of 1,495 patients with cancer of the mammary gland, lungs, prostate, ovaries, bladder or digestive tract showed significant changes in physiological concentrations of amino acids which either directly or indirectly regulate processes of antitumor response, oncogenesis, immunogenesis and apoptosis were shown. Our strategy of application of amino acids as medicinal preparations includes a targeted effect on the functional and metabolic relationships which are changed in specific p...

A Case Report of Sub Periosteal Abscess | Research in Medical & Engineering Sciences

A Case Report of Sub Periosteal Abscess by Munish Kumar Saroch in Crimson Publishers : International Journal of Medical Sciences Acute and chronic rhino sinusitis are amongst the most frequently encountered conditions by the otolaryngologist in dayto- day practice. These are usually easily manageable with proper and effective antibiotic therapy and decongestants. However, despite widely available appropriate antibiotics, the otolaryngologist often finds himself face-to-face with complications of sinusitis especially in the pediatric population. These may affect the soft tissues, bones, the orbit and even the brain with a possible fatal or functionally impairing outcome (visual loss) at times. Here we present a case of orbital complication secondary to frontoethmoidal sinusitis. https://crimsonpublishers.com/rmes/fulltext/RMES.000521.php For more open access journals in crimson publishers Please click on link: https://crimsonpublishers.com For more articles on I...

Digitally Modulated Higher Cervical Tetraplegic by facial Signaling Project | Crimson Publishers

Digitally Modulated Higher Cervical Tetraplegic by facial Signaling Project by Abbas Alnaji in Research in Medical & Engineering Sciences Complete tetraplegia means shoulder is involved due to cervical spinal cord segment four is damaged. We have to bypass this gap. One method is by picking up the signals of facial muscles where volitionally controlled, propagate them (afferent similarity) to a digital processor to generate a package of orders (efferents) transmitted to the effecter organs (muscles) to achieve preprogrammed task. The whole story is implanted sub-cutanously. https://crimsonpublishers.com/rmes/fulltext/RMES.000520.php For more open access journals in crimson publishers Please click on link: https://crimsonpublishers.com For more articles on Research in Medical & Engineering Sciences Please click on link: https://crimsonpublishers.com/rmes/

Review of Long Term Turbidity Trends with Possible Reasons around the World | Crimson Publishers

Review of Long Term Turbidity Trends with Possible Reasons around the World by Ilknur Tuncer in Research in Medical & Engineering Sciences In this review, it was tried to summarize the long term turbidity trends in various environments around the world. It was found that there was a decreasing trend in water clarity for Baltic Sea, Dutch Wadden Sea, Black Sea, Adriatic Sea, Japanese coasts due to eutrophication, rapid industrialization, anthropogenic input, etc. throughout 1900s and when those effects were diminished as maintained in Norwegian and North Atlantic coasts by the introduction of waste treatment plants and the improvement of sewage systems, an increasing trend was obtained. Moreover, clear oceanic water intrusion into near shore regions also resulted in an increase in water clarity as seen in the coasts of Southern California. On the other hand, since coasts of Wales, UK consisted of inorganic sediments, rather than anthropogenic effects, wind was tested as...

Role of Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSC) in the Management of Brain Stroke - Crimson Publishers

Role of Mesenchymal StemCells (MSC) in the Management of Brain Stroke by Ramesh Teegala* in Research inMedical & Engineering Sciences Cerebro vascular Accident (CVA) also commonly known as brain stroke leads to death of brain cells. There are limitations in the effective management of stroke due to lack of definitive treatment measures. In selective cases, interventional radiological and surgical procedure may reduce or prevent the progression of disease. Medical management mainly aimed at long term prevention of stroke. There are no proven medical or surgical measures to rescue the damaged neurons of CNS origin. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have emerged as a promising approach for the replacement of lost neurons by multiple unique properties of MSCs like neo angiogenesis, stimulating endogenous neuro genesis, autocrine effect, migration, inflammatory milieu and reducing glial scar formation.  https://crimsonpublishers.com/rmes/fulltext/RMES.000516.ph...

Stimulus Activated Shape Switching in Shape Memory Materials with Tailor Able Start/Finish Temperature/ Time - Crimson Publishers

Stimulus Activated ShapeSwitching in Shape Memory Materials with Tailor Able Start/Finish Temperature/Time by Wei Min Huang* in Research in Medical & Engineering Sciences The shape memory effect (SME) refers to the phenomenon of shape recovery in a severely pre-deformed material , but only when a right stimulus is applied. The materials with the SME are called shape memory material (SMM), and typical stimuli include heat, chemical (including water/moisture), light, etc. Right now, the family of SMM has expended significantly, and covers a range of different types of materials, including alloy, polymer and ceramic etc. In general, the SME process includes two steps. The first step is to program the piece of SMM into a temporary shape (known as the programming process); and the second step is to apply the right stimulus for recovery (called the recovery process) with or without constraint applied. https://crimsonpublishers.com/rmes/fulltext/RMES.000515.php For mo...
